Blockchain technologies such as Bitcoin & ethereum allow the creation of autonomous systems that have unbreakable rules, and no one with executive authority.

Almost everything that we do on the web will work better when implemented on a blockchain. In the future community platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Airbnb, eBay, reddit and Uber will all be replaced with autonomous systems that run on a blockchain and are controlled by no one.

These are the sort of community platforms that Drupal is best at so this has massive implications for Drupal.

I have created some basic integration with Bitcoin: https://www.drupal.org/project/cointools but we need flesh out a blockchain strategy for Drupal otherwise we will get left behind in this revolution.
