The laziest developer is the best developer. We use tools such as Grunt or Gulp to stop doing repetitive tasks, and ensure our code is the best that it can be. The less time we spend doing silly tasks over and over, the more time we can spend doing awesome work. Grunt.js has been a standard for some time, and has some amazing tools built into it--- but there is a new player in town that promises to be faster and more efficient than its predecessor, Gulp.js.
In this session, we will go over what makes Gulp faster than Grunt, as well as a few other key differences. Then, we will create together a Gulp file that will lint our JavaScript, concatenate and minify the JavaScript, optimize our images, and compile and minify our Sass files, all within a Drupal theme. Together, we will do all the work necessary for you to use Gulp in your existing theme in less than an hour.
