Digital Experience Management in Drupal

CRM, or Contact/Customer Relationship Management systems, have long been an integral part of most organization's operations. Many of these same organizations embrace open source software in general, and Drupal in particular, for their websites, both for their value and values. Historically, however, there has always been a gap between these systems that's difficult to bridge. Removing the barriers between these tools allows for customized user experiences based on a person's interaction with an organization, thus increasing their engagement. This more commonly referred to as digital (or web) experience management.

There are 2 emerging native Drupal CRM solutions, CRM Core and RedHen CRM. CiviCRM, long an open source leader with tight Drupal integration, continues to be a solid “out of the box” alternative. In addition, the newly revamped Salesforce Suite provides the ability for simple bi-directional data synchronization between Drupal and Salesforce opening the door for the best of both worlds: a tightly integrated CMS and CRM plus the power of Salesforce and its ecosystem.

After exploring the Drupal CRM ecosystem, this session will focus on using RedHen in conjunction with other tools for the following:

  • Online fundraising and
  • Peer to peer campaigns
  • Measuring engagement and then customizing a user's experience
  • Event registration
  • Membership management
  • Email marketing
