In addition to rewriting some important subsystems, or adopting external components, a lot of code in Drupal 8 has pretty much the same logic as in Drupal 7 but has been re-organized into new locations.

This session will look primary at the Drupal 8 plugin system with an eye towards mapping Drupal 7 concepts and code to their location in Drupal 8. In addition we'll look at some of the services in the service container and how those compare to concepts in Drupal 7.

Finally, we'll see how the plugin and service container architecture provides tremendous flexibility to swap a custom implementation for one provided by Drupal core.
