As Drupalists we spend a great deal of time solving problems. Great problem-solving skills will make you an exceptional developer (themer, site builder etc.), regardless of which layer(s) of the stack you work on.

There are techniques to problem solving that will make you more effective, faster, and less frustrated. I will teach the techniques that have been effective for me. This will be advice suitable to problem-solving in any field, but taught in the context of Drupal and typical types of issues we deal with.

My name is Jody Hamilton, I'm the CTO of Zivtech, I'm an expert Drupal generalist and I've had a stand-out talent for problem-solving since childhood. When I was 13 I took a college course in "Creative Problem Solving", thinking that would be up my alley, only to find the course e a useless academic exercise. Since then I've often thought about problem solving approaches and how to teach them, and have studied and evolved my own techniques.

Before I started in web development 9 years ago I was a scientist, so yes, the scientific method will be involved.
