Drupal of Things

Speakers:

For the last decade we have looked upon Drupal as CMS for spitting out webpages, even calling it a “web CMS”. Thereby doing it wrong, content management is independent of the layout, of the functionality. Broader than “we support multiple themes” but maybe no theme at all. More than RSS, more then webservices, Drupal can own a place in the Internet of Things. Managing content for home automation, making decisions as a service bus or doing communication between server to server without any eyeballs involved.

In this session you will learn what Drupal can be without serving webpages, from a headless install towards a print-only CMS. We will define what the landscape is where we are heading, what the road to travel is for us as a community to think outside the chromebox and you will learn the concrete possibilities where Drupal is already being used as a backend system.

By attending this session you will learn how to spot opportunities for Drupal in this terra incognita , where the milestones are and how you can how we can market Drupal.
