In this session, you will learn how to quickly and easily display Leaflet maps in Drupal 7.
You, yes, you, can easily create a beautiful mobile-friendly map in Drupal using Leaflet and Geofield modules. In this hands-on demonstration, I’ll show you all the pointy-clicky magic you need to know to configure Geofield and Leaflet to display a lightweight map of WiFi hotspots in Amsterdam, using data exported from Google Maps. This future-proof methodology (Leaflet and Geofield already have Drupal 8 dev versions) is accessible to site builders of any skill level.
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Add Leaflet Maps to your Drupal 7 site
- Use data from Google Maps to display markers on a Leaflet Map
- Enter and store geographic data in Drupal using Geofield module
Mapping in Drupal has been intimidating to many site builders, but it doesn’t have to be. If you can install a module, you can add Leaflet maps to your Drupal site. Get on the location train and get started using location data to display maps powered by LeafletJS on your Drupal site. All skill levels welcome, but newcomers to mapping in Drupal or Leaflet will benefit the most.
And, bonus, you’ll know where to find local Amsterdam WiFi hotspots!
