Frontend Performance -- Improvements where they matter

Speakers:

Application performance is critical. It's a leading factor in usability. It impacts business goals, like conversions and time on site. It shapes perceived value. And it can directly influence your brand's reputation. But, while many developers focus on backend performance, most time is actually spent in the browser.

This talk draws on monitoring data from billions of web requests, to show why real performance improvements begin and end in the browser. With specific examples of actual performance bottlenecks, we'll explore how to wring the best experience from your application with the least amount of effort.

Speaker, Nathan Taggart, leads the Browser application monitoring team at New Relic, a software analytics company which provides tools to measure and monitor your web application performance. He's previously spoken on frontend performance at Fluent, an O'Reilly conference focused on frontend application development.
