Drupalcon Austin has just passed, people acclaim the progress of Drupal 8, all-mighty Dries warns about using Drupal 8 for production.. Yet this warning didn't stop us from choosing the red pill anyway. We must admit, the confidence we gained as early adaptors when releasing a high-profile site 3 months after D7 release did help quite a bit to make that choice.
Here comes The Headless Drupal!
We've already learned about previous Drupal 8 tryouts, and how painful they were, but this great project we want to talk about is different. It allowed us to use only the core functionalities from Drupal 8. Content Management, User Management and a few Custom Content Types, but lot's of webservices, while at the same time using some-aswesome-JS-frontend-framework as the presentation layer. No drupal theming, no contrib modules here.
This session is for all those who like separation of concerns, risk mitigation and are open to shortcuts, out-of-the-box thinking to cover up for wrong choices.
At the end of this session you will have the answer : Is my project ready for Drupal 8? How to keep up with alpha versions?
