The aim of this talk is to provide a case study look into how the site http://believe.paralympic.org.au/ was built.
Paralympians historically do not have the same access to funds and sponsorship opportunities that the average Olympian does. To help get Australian Paralympians to the Russian Olympics in 2014 and future games the Australian Paralympic Committee looked to Drupal.
A new Drupal site was built and used as the main tool to help drive a kickstarter style campaign to allow the everyday person to contribute funds that would go directly to getting Athletes to the games.
This talk will focus on how we built the site in Drupal to match the design of a one page scrolling layout, accommodated for mobile site and dealt with and finally overcome SalesForce integration. Due to the timeframe of the upcoming Russian Games this site was built within less then 2months with one developer, one UX designer and one copywriter.
We will take a look at the custom built theme and the way in which Drupal Views was used to created the one page feel from a collection of nodes and node types.
This talk will focus on what worked well and also what didnt, why certain approaches were taken and in the end what was learnt.
