We're working on an enterprise platform - a collection of Drupal driven sites, all connected and working together to provide a simple yet powerful user experience across multiple services.
These services are intended to facilitate the way for small or mid-size companies to build their web presence and start collaborating with each other and promoting their products and services to their customers online.
To add to the complexity, the project is funded by the EU and needs to be delivered in a very short period of time.
In this session we will showcase all the interesting core and contributed features of Drupal we use to make our client's dream a reality.
We will cover topics like:
+ Single-Sign-On across multiple domains / brands with configuration options
+ access control on a local (Drupal) and a global (whole platform) level with Organic Groups
+ different types of communication/synchronization based on Services API
+ the use of alternative storage solutions such as MongoDB
+ fast search with Search API and Solr, even across multiple instances
+ automatic Drupal instance creation and customization on 1-click user request
+ centralized Drupal Commerce solution for selling subscriptions across the whole platform (role as a product)
+ implementation of the Scrum methodology over the whole project
The role of this session is to highlight and prove how flexible Drupal is, and how you can manage such high complexity tasks with the help of community supported open software.
