While Drupal is truly awesome to manage and deliver your content, going beyond its confines to integrate content from multiple platform into one coherent personalized customer experience might present a bit of a challenge.

In this session we introduce a general Drupal plugin that can bidirectionally talk to a distributed real-time backend based on Apache Storm. Storm components can be written in PHP, thus enabling the re-use of existing business logic. At the same time the doorway is opened to access to the vast world of online recommendations and machine learning.

We'll present a use case using this plugin in conjunction with an open-source recommendation solution. This does not only allow Drupal users to harness the power of personalized recommendations for their platform in order to boost conversions, but enables owners of multiple platforms to market their content across all operated websites.
