Professional Requirements Engineering (Elicitation and Specification) as well as the continuous Requirements Management along the whole project duration is key in every ICT project - and thereby also in web-based Drupal projects. Successful Requirements Engineering goes hand in hand with day-to-day project management (including time-, issue- & resource- planning as well as communication with all relevant stakeholders as the project team and the customer, etc). It is often a lot of work & effort to create and manage high quality requirements specification and project teams even more often would prefer to start coding immediately after the project kick off - but the continuous and precise requirements engineering as well as the continuous requirements management along the whole project duration helps to realise really successful projects and satisfied customers. As you are able to deliver: great projects - on time - and on budget!
Martin will explain the several parts & concrete steps, the challenges and related well-proven techniques, mechanisms & tools of a successful requirements engineering and requirements management process: from requirements elicitation: the evaluation and specification of objectives and non-objectices, the project environment and the involvement of all relevant stakeholders (often called 'the why' and 'the what' - but never 'the how') over requirements specification: the structured specification of all functional and non-functional requirements to system architecture , UML diagramms and MockUp creation (means: the how) to finally continuous requirements management: the management of requirements along the implementation phase including the successful issue management in an iterative & agile development process, the handling of change requests as well as to recognise project problems on time and the respective communication with customers to last but not least efficient handling of test & refinements phases before the launch and finally the launch itself!
He will explain this process making use of best-practise examples of successful realised Drupal projects - as e.g. the EIP Water Online Marketplace for the European Commission (http://www.eip-water.eu) or the GBPN Knowledge Platform (http://www.gbpn.org).
