As a Drupal consultancy, it was natural for us to choose Drupal when we started building WalkHub. Two years later we are more than ever convinced that this was the right choice, also from a business perspective.

In this session I will explain why we initially chose Drupal to build our product, and how that has influenced our project. I will explain what the advantages and disadvantages are of building a Drupal distribution. Give guidance about decision factors, and give you a framework to think about the business benefits of this model.

On the technical side I will explain what WalkHub does, give a high level overview of how we built it, what modules we were able to use and where we needed to do custom development.

On the business side, I will explain what an OpenSaaS product is, and why the inherent vulnerability of building a product under an open source license might actually be a strength.
