Fabian was in the international board of the Erasmus Student Network, the biggest interdisciplinary student organization in Europe, for two years until last summer. He was responsible and the main lead for upgrading the Satellite, a website template used by over 300 ESN section all over Europe, to Drupal 7 and making it a full fledged Drupal distribution.

Fabian introduced single sign-on to the intranet of ESN, allowing him to develop ESNs event registration system and other complex systems as their own Drupal projects while giving the 130000 users the impression of it being one system. Thanks to the open source integration component for dokuwiki and the feature configuring the authentication in the new Satellite the intranet and its single sign-on have gained popularity and the authentication is used on over 200 websites.

After his involvement in ESN, Fabian was employed by Nuvole as a Drupal developer. In his free time Fabian continues to be the system architect and Drupal trainer for ESN.
